Activist and New York Assemblymember deletes her map of Palestine stretching from the river to the sea

New York Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest had racked up more than 300 replies to her #FreePalestine post before deleting it, so we were disappointed not to get to read them. We did have her tweet in our cache, though, and her map of Palestine certainly … invites discussion.

Huh … there seems to be a country missing — a country that’s a United States ally.

Weird way of saying “death to Israel” https://t.co/Rd62SiJsAO

As far as I know there was never a ‘country’ called ‘Palestine’ … jus sayin’.
— Howard Stallings (@JacksonHolly) May 13, 2021

I knew people hated jews, I guess I didn’t realize just how many and just how much. Silly me, guess they left that out in Hebrew school.

She did explain why she deleted it:

I deleted a previous tweet that led to misunderstandings about my position. ⁰⁰My position has always been about peace and justice. ⁰I stand against apartheid because I believe that all people deserve to live under equal rights regardless of ethnicity or religion.

“Misunderstandings.”
